Admonition | A Pretty Important SAT Word
Rumor has it this showed up on a real SAT recently. What do you think ADMONITION means?
I think over the years I’ve been confused by the word admonition, at some points thinking that it meant some kind of advice or rule for life, while at other times thinking that an admonition is related to berating. But basically an admonition is just gentle advice about how to do something or what could happen, like a parent warning their kid about the dangers of lending money to someone or driving around in a car that’s low on gas.
