INFER most nearly means: A) imply; B) refute; C) embellish; D) deduce. Answer inside. ๐๏ธ
Most people are getting this wrong:
English teachers traditionally teach the difference between the words "infer" and "imply." What is this distinction?
A) A writer infers; a reader implies
B) Actually, almost no difference
C) Infer is logical, imply intuitive
D) A writer implies; a reader infers

Thanks!
Still trying to figure Substack out.
Looking forward to it.
