Offal: It Was Next Up on the List
Offal = guts.
Well, there’s no way around it. Offal refers to the guts of an animal, especially when it’s used in food, such as sausage. By extension, it can also be used to refer to anything of low quality, like trash, basically.
To my mind, it’s an uncountable noun, but a little research shows me that offals does exist as well.
Oh, it’s pronounced pretty much the same as the word awful, so if you get queasy thinking about about offal, you can think that offal is awful to help you remember the word.
