Somewhat Important SAT Vocabulary: JULEP 🍹
The term JULEP has origins in ancient Persian medicine and is now synonymous with a classic American cocktail. Despite being a rare and specific word you may want to learn it.
To be honest, I wasn’t sure whether to define this word. It’s not that common, but people do know the word, and if it shows up on the SAT, I’m guessing that from context, you could figure out what it means. For example, you might read sipping a mint julep. And if a word is very uncommon, you will likely see an explanation of the meaning of the word in its context.
There’s a poll below where you can vote on whether I should define words that are less likely to show up on the SAT. Some other words that fall into this category: nightcap, rasp, mainsail, forelady, and sultan.
Also, a quick question—did anyone take the August SAT? If so, did any of our words show up on the test?
I’m compiling a list of recent SAT vocab words that I will publish soon and share here, by the way!
