Sophistry - Advanced SAT Vocabulary
A super fancy word even more relevant today with shortening attention spans and self-proclaimed gurus!
We’ve got a fancy one today that you may not have learned yet: SOPHISTRY.
This is actually one of my favorite words because it describes those moments when someone’s argument sounds convincing, but you know there’s something off about it.

Sophistry (noun): The use of clever but misleading or false reasoning, especially with the intent to deceive. Example: an argument of pure sophistry.

It’s important for all people to recognize sophistry when it is employed.
